Maryland AI training · Session recap
Nearly 50 attendees joined Oceans Transit’s AI training in Maryland. Active participation, challenging questions, and thoughtful feedback made the session a success—and the conversation continued after the official session ended.
Thank you to everyone who contributed. Your willingness to engage, ask hard-hitting questions, and share feedback brought energy and substance to the discussion.
Based on presenter Tom Eser’s firsthand report, shared September 27, 2026.
The session resources
Presented by Tom Eser of Ocean's Transit, this practical, non-technical session explored how transit professionals can turn rough ideas into structured objectives, lesson outlines, safety communication, and program materials.
The method is intentionally human-centered: ask clearly, add context, refine the draft, verify the evidence, and keep the final decision with a qualified person.
The practice framework
The index-card activity described in the session resources uses transit terms and unrelated words to demonstrate that AI does not require magic wording. It requires clear direction, thoughtful review, and responsible limits.
State the goal in plain language.
Add audience, transit setting, examples, and constraints.
Reorganize, shorten, clarify, and correct.
Open sources and check facts, links, dates, and answers.
Keep safety, policy, and operational authority with people.
Participant resources
The Maryland learning library brings together the current handouts, prompt examples, ridership checklist, complete class packet, and a page-by-page illustrated story reader. These materials support learning; they are not agency policy, legal advice, or final authority.
Browse one focused example at a time, open the current 10-page packet, or download the complete current PDF set. The obsolete master packet and editable Word files are not included.

AI-supported media lab
These three demonstrations began with random facts and class input, then moved through an AI-assisted text-to-voice workflow. They are examples of a creative process—not documentary accounts or agency statements.
